The Call

Last weekend, I had the wonderful privilege of attending my college friends’ wedding. It was nice to see old friends and familiar faces. It was fun talking to them about how we were back in college. It personally reminded me of the foolish things I did, how dishonoring I was towards women, and basically how purposeless my life was. It also brought me back to how one student shared something with me that completely changed my life forever.

In 2007, during my last semester in College, a group of students started a small group inside my campus (Remedios T. Romualdez Memorial School – Makati Medical Center, College of Nursing). That was when I met Kim, the small group leader who shared the Gospel with me. Through him, I learned that God loved me, and that He gave his one and only Son for me. Many more heard the good news, and got discipled like me. I remember that before I graduated, and started working, almost 200 students got plugged into small groups, and were passionately worshipping Jesus Christ. It has been eight years, and majority of those students are now nurses working here in the Philippines and abroad. Some are flight crews, and some are in health insurance companies. A few are doctors, and medical representatives. Two have fallen in love with each other and are now married. One is now a full time Campus Missionary.

Imagine, because of one young man who boldly shared his faith with his fellow students, many lives were transformed! Those people are also now making a difference in their respective industries. This simply shows that God can use anyone who is willing to take part in the Great Commission. Will you answer that call?

For a special treat, I’m sharing this photo slideshow from our college small groups. You’re lucky if you recognize me! 😁😁😁

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19-20‬
